    The Shoulder Surgery Update 2018 course will take place on the scenic Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area in Idaho from July 30-August 3, 2018. Over the course of the 5-day river trip approximately 1 1/2 hours per day will be dedicated to lectures and interactive discussion on the topic of shoulder, hip, and knee surgery. This course provides a unique opportunity for orthopedic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to interact with a world-class faculty in a beautiful and unique environment.

    The ISERF Arthroplasty update 2018 course will take place on the scenic Middle Fork of the Salmon River in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area in Idaho from July 30-August 3, 2016.     Course Description

    This course is designed to provide the medical care provider with an update on treatments for various shoulder, hip and knee disorders including non-operative treatments, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and fracture management. The course format is a combination of lectures and engaging panel discussions. A group of distinguished faculty will present their experience, techniques, and discuss individual cases in an intimate environment. Ample time for question and answer sessions will be provided for participants to interact with faculty.

    Objectives

    Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

    • Apply accepted methods of assessment and management of various shoulder,hip, and knee disorders
    • Apply current concepts to total shoulder arthroplasty, soft tissue repair, trauma management, and instability treatments.
    • Have a better understanding of joint anatomy and its implication for total joint arthroplasty.
    • Apply the presented concepts to improve efficiency in the operating room.
    • Consider the post-operative complications and outcomes following orthopedic procedures.
    • Appreciate how orthopedic care is provided through volunteer work in Central America.

    Accreditation

    This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Ada Canyon Medical Education Consortium and Idaho Shoulder Education & Research Foundation. The Ada Canyon Medical Education Consortium is accredited by the Idaho Medical Association and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
