Colin Poole MD, AAOS, ABOS specializes in hip and knee joint replacement with a specific interest in treating the young active patient. He performs over 550 joint replacements per year and is a founder of the St. Luke’s Joint Center. Dr. Poole and his team are dedicated to providing his patients with outstanding care, and if joint replacement is necessary, the best surgical outcome.

Dr. Poole completed an orthopedic fellowship at the Scripps Clinic with Dr. Clifford Colwell, specializing in hip and knee reconstructive surgery. Dr. Poole is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Dr. Poole is widely regarded in the medical community as the leader in providing breakthrough joint replacement technology for the young active patient and was the first orthopedic surgeon in Boise to offer Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. He traveled to Birmingham, England to train with the developer of the procedure, Dr. Derek McMinn, FRCS. Dr. Poole was also one of the first surgeons in the area to use computer-assisted surgery and is the first surgeon in the region to use knee replacements that are specifically manufactured to match each patient to provide a custom fit joint replacement.
